Hi and welcome
If you mean Rogue (there isn't a thief path) and a you mean a pure one
there are 2 ways you could do it

For both you would always add your stats to get your next trap-

Trap/Skill       str int wis con dex
Needle Trap        3 3 3 3 3
Stiletto Trap       3 5 3 3 8
Coiled Bolt Trap  20 6 3 18 10
Study Creature    3 8 3 3 4
Spring Trap         30 10 5 22 12

** Great Blind Snare 13 20 9 6 25
** Maiden Trap        35 12 5 18 45

Before 41 there is good experince in both West Woodlands and Karlopos Island, just don't taunt before you lay the traps because those creatures are aggressive enough :p
At 41 with Spring trap you can solo in medenia.  The creatures there are passive and can be killed in 3 or 5 spring traps or 1-2 maidens

**You have 2 options:
If you are going to solo hunt your way as much as possible in Medenia at 41 then go for Maiden before Great Blind
If you are going to group Hunt get Great Blind you can group hunt in CR/Karl blinding and using Study creature to read the elements for the basher.

Also- once you get all the above skills/spells  add all dex till maxed (for strn in your AS is based on Dex) to, then max strn, Int, Wis and lastly Con

If you have any questions or need help feel free to PM me.  Good luck
