you have to be rather close to the fish for it to work, and sometimes it takes like 185239845982346595149784123614378678914675 clicks to get anything. and most of the time you get useless boots or cheap fish, but every once in a blue moon you get a mushroom cap. oh and if your a peasant your chances of getting a mushroom cap is 75% higher.

You have to be at least 4 spaces range of the fish, plus you have to be facing it.
